May: The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared

Our next book, chosen by Erin, is:
The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared
by Jonas Jonasson

Next meeting is:
June 1st @ 6:30pm

Erin will send an invitation to everyone before the next meeting to give the location, etc.  I bought it on iTunes/audible.com for $18 last night and will be listening to it as I commute to/from San Mateo each day. :D

Happy reading!

Yann says...

“It's important in life to conclude things properly. Only then can you let go. Otherwise you are left with words you should have said but never did, and your heart is heavy with remorse.”

From our First Meeting

This is what the 8 of us decided on Saturday:
- We will continue reading "I've Got Some Lovin' To Do" (The Doris Diaries, Part One)
- Our regular meeting date/time will be the first Saturday of the month at 6:30pm
- The location will be determined at the previous month's meeting
- We will select books based on the recommendation of someone who is present at the meeting
- We'll go through the present members alphabetically, until we get to someone who has a recommendation**
- That person would be "the host" for the next meeting, meaning they pick where we go. For instance, for the next meeting I am "host" BUT I live in a 1BR apartment. So i asked if anyone would be willing to host us at their house, and two people graciously offered.

**This way, everyone will have a chance to recommend a book, and if you don't have a recommendation, no big deal, you'll get a chance at some point. And MUCH less e-mailing, no voting, blah blah blah, it seemed a winner all-around.

The book we are reading can be bought on Amazon (if Books INC is out) in paperback, hardcover, OR E-READER! (Kindle edition is a whopping $3.99)

Next month we'll be meeting at Erin P's house, she'll send out an evite 2 weeks before to get a headcount for beverages/snacks. PLEASE RSVP to the EVITE! And, if you're willing and able, let her know what food/drink, if anything, you plan to bring to share with the group.

I think I got everything, let me know if you have any questions or suggestions!

xoxo,
Becky
